Privacy Policy

GeoHide ("we", "us") is a free, browser-based multiplayer hide-and-seek game that uses Google Street View. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using GeoHide you agree to this policy.

• Nickname. GeoHide has no accounts and requires no email or real name — only the nickname you type to join a game.
• Gameplay data. The lobbies you join, hiding locations, guesses, distances, and scores, which are processed and stored to run the game and show results.
• Local storage. A small session token (a random player id and lobby code) is stored in your browser so you can reconnect to a game after a refresh or brief disconnect. It also remembers your sound preference.
• Usage analytics. Pseudonymous events such as pages viewed and games started/completed, used to understand and improve the game.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and the game is not directed to children under 13.

GeoHide uses cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage). Some are essential to run the game; others are used by our partners for analytics and advertising.

Google AdSense. We display ads served by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to GeoHide and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

To provide the game we rely on the following services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Google Maps & Street View — map and panorama imagery (Google Privacy Policy).
• Google AdSense — advertising.
• PostHog — product analytics.
• MongoDB Atlas — database storage of game records.
• Vercel & Railway — hosting of the website and game server.

• Opt out of personalised ads using the links in the section above.
• Clear GeoHide's local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings.
• Use your browser's privacy controls (e.g. blocking third-party cookies) to limit tracking.

Game records are retained to operate the service and may be removed periodically. To request deletion of data associated with you, or for any privacy question, contact us at mihir@liveivory.com.
